Call for special sessions

SPECIAL SESSIONS PROPOSALS

We are pleased to invite Special Session (SS) proposals on emerging trends and technologies of special interest to ICMT participants, including but not limited to the topics of ICMT 2026. Each Special Session should be clearly focused on a specific theme, rather than broadly defined.

Special Session proposals will be reviewed promptly upon submission and, upon approval, will be published HERE. 

REQUIREMENTS

Special Session proposals should follow the requirements below:

1. Title of the proposed SS (up to 20 words)

2. Names and affiliations of the SS Organiser and Co-Organisers (where applicable, up to 02 Co-Organisers)

3. SS 100-word synopsis (stating the motivation and significance of the topic, as well as a rationale for the proposed SS)

4. List of invited papers (including a tentative title, an author list and affiliations for each paper)

Number of invited papers for each Special Session is 04~05. In addition to invited papers, other potential authors will be allowed to submit papers to Special Sessions. All papers will go through the same review process as the regular papers submitted to the main conference to ensure that the contributions are of high quality. 

If a Special Session receives less than 05 accepted papers, those papers may be assigned to or combined with other papers or another session. Vice versa, if a Special Session has more than 05 accepted papers, some of the papers will be moved to another special or regular session.

Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness of the topic and relevance to ICMT, as well as the track record of the organizers and anticipated quality of papers in the proposed session. When considering submitting a Special Session proposal, please bear in mind that Special Sessions are expected to be oral sessions (online presentations are acceptable).
